Support · MSRX
Finds the space you can get back, shows you exactly what it proposes to remove, and lets you undo it. Nothing leaves your computer.
Version 2.0 · Previously released as OrionClean. Same app, new name.
What it finds
Application caches, diagnostic logs, browser caches and cookies, and downloads you have not touched in a month.
Duplicates matched by content rather than by name, and burst frames or resaved images compared by the pictures themselves.
Caches, preferences and support folders written by software that is no longer installed and has been untouched for a month.
Files your cloud drive already holds in full. Only the local copy is removed — the file stays put and downloads again when opened.
Frequently asked questions
MSRX Clean is sandboxed. It cannot see anything on your computer until you hand it a folder, and it can never widen that grant by itself. Choosing your home folder lets it look there and nowhere else.
If you grant it nothing, it does nothing. That is the design, not a fault.
Yes. Nothing is deleted outright — files move to the Trash, and every clean is written to a History you can open afterwards. One click restores everything in that entry to where it came from.
The one exception is emptying the Trash, which is permanent by definition and asks you to acknowledge that in writing before the button works.
No. Nothing is ever ticked on your behalf. Every removal opens a review sheet listing exactly what will go, grouped by category, with a note on what you lose if it does.
It finds files your cloud drive already holds a complete, fully uploaded copy of, and asks the system to remove only the local copy. The file stays exactly where you put it and downloads again the next time you open it.
Nothing is deleted, so there is nothing to undo. Anything still syncing is skipped, and checked again at the moment of removal.
Probably not. Some passes are genuinely slow: comparing photos means decoding every image, and a synced Documents folder can hold hundreds of thousands of files.
Results now appear while the scan runs rather than only at the end, and every long pass shows what it is doing and how long it has been running. You can leave a screen and come back to it.
No. Photo and music libraries, cloud containers, application bundles and system folders are never entered, and the rule is checked twice — once when a file is found, and again at the moment of removal.
No. Everything works offline. The only network request the app ever makes is the connection speed check on the Network screen, and only when you press the button.
MSRX Clean 2.0 is the same app under its proper name, rebuilt from scratch. If you owned OrionClean, this arrives as a free update — there is nothing to buy again and nothing to reinstall.
