Most PDF compressors flatten every page to an image, and the text stops being text. This one looks at each page first: pages with a real text layer keep it, and only scans get re-encoded. Entirely on your device โ nothing is ever uploaded.
Key Features
Pages with a real text layer are copied through untouched, so the result is still selectable, searchable, and readable by VoiceOver. A 135-page workbook came out 33% smaller with all 138,000 characters intact.
Name the size your email or upload form imposes โ 5, 10, 20 or 25 MB โ and it works out the settings by testing real pages. If your limit cannot be reached, it says so rather than pretending.
Before you commit, the file is broken down into images, fonts, page content and overhead, with a plain-language verdict: โ10 of 28 pages are scans. Those compress well; the rest keep their text.โ
Queue as many PDFs as you like and compress them in one run, with per-file results and a combined total. Files that cannot be improved are reported rather than quietly re-saved.
Put the original and the result side by side, page by page, and confirm for yourself that nothing was lost.
Every run is recorded with its before and after size, and the app keeps a running total of everything you have saved.
Drop the colour on scans and photographs when you want the extra reduction, and leave it on when you do not.
Compress straight from any app's share sheet without opening this one, or use the Compress PDF action inside a Shortcut.
Full Dark Mode, Dynamic Type at every size, VoiceOver labels throughout, and motion that respects Reduce Motion.
No uploads, no accounts, no analytics. The app links no networking code at all, so there is nothing to send anywhere.
